Daytime Activities

• Sailing School – Sailing terminology: the hull, the sails, and the differences between the various types of boats
• Navigation – Points of sail, manoeuvres, and the final course regatta; rules of behaviour in the water
• Dry-land sailing simulator practice
• Introduction to nautical charts – basic coastal navigation elements
• Sailing aboard a cruising yacht (Albachiara, 16 metres) – navigation and manoeuvring at sea
• Knots – reef knot, clove hitch, sheet bend, bowline, and rolling hitch
• Meteorology – winds, waves and currents; daily listening to the marine weather forecast
• Canoeing School – the parts of a canoe, paddling and turning techniques; kayak excursions
• S.U.P. (Stand Up Paddle) – improving balance, coordination and water confidence
• Safety at sea – the main rules of behaviour in the water
• Windsurfing and Wing Foil – theoretical and practical introduction
• Archery – the fundamentals
• Astronomical observation with optical telescopes – from navigation in Ancient Greece to modern techniques
